The course aims to enhance knowledge, understanding and practical skills of seafarers to enable them to demonstrate the required competence to perform the functions at the support level. Upon successful completion of the course, trainees should be able to demonstrate competence in performing the navigational function & encourage safety consciousness on board the vessels.
This course is designed to equip trainees with operational skills, knowledge and attitudes of Rating forming part of a navigational watch in accordance with industry standards. The course aims to provide the trainees with introductory knowledge and understanding of basic theory and practical skills necessary for a Rating forming part of a navigational watch.
This course is designed to enhance skills to the next level, from ‘Ordinary Seafarer Deck’ to ‘Able Seafarer Deck’. The trainees are taught advanced techniques covering different vessels and their parts, vessel maintenance, rope & wire skills, and much more.
This course covers core competencies such as perform engine watchkeeping duties, oversee fuel, bilge and ballast operations, operate equipment and machinery, operate electrical equipment and maintain engine room machinery and spaces specified under Regulation III/5 of Chapter III of the STCW Convention and Section A-III/5, Table A-III/5, Specifications of minimum standards of competence of ratings as able seafarer engine, of the STCW Code, as amended.
