Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2.1.2) is a part of the mandatory Basic Safety Training and STCW Refresher course. It is also the first step towards Advanced Fire Fighting training. The course covers the basics of fire causes on vessels, the use of extinguishers, firefighting techniques etc.
Elementary first aid course provides all delegates intending to go to sea, the education and training in elementary first aid to meet the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements as set out in the SCTW Table A-VI/1-3.
STCW Security Awareness online course, according to STCW A-VI/6-1, should be completed before employment on a sea-going ship. STCW Security Awareness training for all seafarers, provides the knowledge required to enable personnel without designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP). STCW Security Awareness training is crucial for crew members to enhance maritime safety and gain essential knowledge on security threats, risk assessment, and preventive measures.
The course provides knowledge and practical understanding on the applicable provisions of the ISPS Code and Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74, as amended (special measures to enhance maritime security) and meets the requirements of Regulation VI/6 of the STCW Convention, as amended (mandatory minimum requirements for security-related training and instruction for all seafarers); and Section A-VI/6, Paragraph 4-8, Tables A-VI/6-1 and A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code.
