PERSONAL SAFETY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (PSSR)

Duration: 3 Days (20 hours)

Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR) course forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers.

COURSE AIM / OBJECTIVE:

The STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR) course teaches knowledge of and compliance with safe working practices at a basic level. At the end of the lesson, candidates will be able to demonstrate following:

TEACHING METHOD:

Instructions will be undertaken through a series of lectures, tutorials and CBTS. Small groups may be formed to discuss the case studies.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP:

The course is mandatory for all to join ship.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

A certificate of course completion shall be issued to those who shall satisfactorily fulfill the course requirements. Certificate of Proficiency will be issued by the Department of Shipping on completion of an oral test.
