REFRESHER TRAINING IN AFF

Duration: 1 Days (7 hours)

This training course is intended for existing seafarers who has done full Basic Safety training course and Advanced Fire Fighting course (the certificate is expired) and are going to take or already hold certain positions on board ships. The course complies all requirements of the STCW Paragraphs 5 and 6 Section A-VI/3 & and in column 1 of table A-VI/3 of STCW Code, as amended in 2010 by IMO Model course 2.03 “Advanced Training in Fire Fighting.

TEACHING METHOD:

For the theoretical part of the course, lectures and demonstrations shall be held in a classroom with set of functional audio-visual equipment. The practical part of the course will be conducted in Firefighting house where students will participate in firefighting drill and demonstrate handling of firefighting equipment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP:

Seafarers who shall undergo the Refresher Course on Advanced Fire Fighting must be a holder of a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in AFF and have proof of approved seagoing service, performing functions appropriate to the certificate held, for a period of at least twelve (12) months in total during the preceding five (5) years or three (3) months in total during the preceding six (6) months immediately prior to revalidating. They must be medically fit to enable them to participate in all aspects of the training particularly the practical exercises.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

On successful completion of this course the Institute will issue certificate of attendance and proficiency certificate will be issued by Department of Shipping (DoS).
