ENGINE ROOM RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND APPLICATION OF LEADERSHIP AND MANAGERIAL SKILLS (MANAGEMENT LEVEL)

Duration: 5 Days (35 hours)

This course is intended for engineer officers forming a team to work in the engine room and machinery spaces. This training, together with the Basic Safety Training and competency training of the required rank, will enable the engine room personnel to have the mandatory minimum training requirement prescribed in Regulation III/2 under Chapter III and Code Section Table A-III/2 of the STCW 78 Convention, as amended in 2010 and as per IMO Model Course 2.07 and 1.39.

COURSE AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

Main content of the course covers leadership, team work, management of various work situations, orientation and familiarization of ship and the equipment etc. This includes training on duties, functions, responsibilities and watch keeping in addition to Emergency, Safety and Survival. To use the simulators to train and observe and ensure that the officers keep a high standard of competence within the ERM principles.

Course lessons and instructions are given by several lecturers; each one is a specialist on their respective subject area(s).

ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP:

Be not less than 18 years of age have adequate academic and workshop training as per STCW.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

A Certificate of Completion is given to each candidate who satisfactorily fulfills the Course. Certificate of Proficiency is issued by the Department of Shipping on completion of an oral test.
