CH. ENG. KHAN SHARIF RAIHAN, ENGINEERING INSTRUCTOR

Mar Engr. Khan Sharif Raihan is a highly experienced engineer with about three decades of experience in various sectors including shipping, hospitality, power, maritime education and training, etc. He is a graduate of Bangladesh Marine Academy’s 23rd batch and holds a Marine Engineer Officer Class-1 Certificate of Competence from the UK. He completed Higher Secondary from Pabna Cadet College in 1986. He also has an MBA in Human Resource and Management from Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology and an MSc in Environmental Science from Stamford University Bangladesh. He has a special interest in renewable energy and has published two papers in international conference proceedings. He was also engaged in few Research and Developments works including Digital Taxi Fare Meter, MPPT Solar Charge Controller, Solar Irrigation Pump Controller and Solar Powered Integrated Farming System, etc.

 

Mar Engr. Khan Sharif Raihan has always had a passion for teaching, which he has cherished from the very beginning of his career. Even while working in various sectors such as shipping, hospitality, and power, he found ways to incorporate teaching into his work. He is very much interested to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of engineers, and he takes great joy in mentoring young professionals and helping them develop their skills and expertise.

This passion for teaching led him to join as an Engineering Instructor at Bangladesh Maritime Training Institute (BMTI) in 2023. Prior to BMTI, Mar Engr. Khan Sharif Raihan worked for Baraka Group as General Manager Technical and as an Engineering Instructor for Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chittagong. He also served as Chief Engineer of Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel Dhaka, Business Development Manager for Rangs Industries Ltd, and project coordinator for Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) of 32 MW Gas based power plant of Rahim Energy Ltd. He was promoted to Chief Engineer on board ship M.V. Great Prestige in the year 2000.
