Capt. Md. Sadik Miah joined in Bangladesh Maritime Training Institute (BMTI) on 18th September, 2022 as a Nautical Instructor. Before joining here, he was working as Deputy Nautical Surveyor in “EGIMNS Project” of Department of Shipping (DOS) Since April 2016 to 15th September, 2022. He Served as master on board the foreign going vessels from 2008 to 2015.Capt. Md. Sadik Miah was born in a noble Muslim family in Tangail in 1974. After completing primary education in the native school, he went to Rangpur Cadet College and passed HSC in 1991. He joined in Bangladesh Marine Academy (28th batch) and from their successfully completed Graduation, BSc in Maritime Science (Nautical) under National University. He joined in Bangladesh Shipping Corporation as deck cadet in 1995 and served in the rank of various capacity up to 2009 as Permanent Employee & subsequently before leaving sea up to 2015 on Contractual basis.
In his glorious sea carrier, worked in various types of vessels and commanded General Cargo, Bulk carrier & Cellular Container ship. Apart from the project management, served as Nautical Examiner, involved in Conducting IMSAS & EMSA Audit, and Coordinated IMO & Foreign cell of DOS along with other responsibility vested upon him. He gained diversified knowledge through participating workshop, seminar and symposium at local and abroad. Attended general management course on GMDSS – conducted by LG-CNS in South Korea, completed course on Government Procurement system e-GP course, Debris management, Maritime Safety Information (MSI) etc.
He is solely devoted in teaching in BMTI & IMA and expects to lead the maritime professionals towards a bright future.Presently residing in Mirpur – 10, Dhaka. He is happily married since 2002 and blessed with two Daughters and a son.
