Masanori Okada, Director, Talent Development, ONESEA Solutions Pte. Ltd., along with Capt. Shahid Murad and other distinguished guests, visited the International Maritime Academy (IMA) on 10th November 2025 to select IMA cadets for ONESEA Solutions Pte. Ltd., the ship manager for Ocean Network Express (O.N.E) the 6th largest container company in the world.

During the selection process, the delegation also visited all IMA premises and its facilities. They expressed their appreciation regarding IMA’s resources and training standards.

The seminar mainly focused on cadets’ self- development, firm decision regarding personal rule, honesty, clean and respectful reputation. It was a very interactive and lively seminar and enriched and aware cadets knowledge regarding corruption occurrences.

The event successfully hosted over 450 seafarers and their families, serving as a key recognition event for all officers currently serving aboard HSL-managed vessels.

A central highlight of the evening was the formal presentation of Long Service Loyalty Awards, recognizing dedicated officers marking ten and fifteen years of continuous service; 77 officers are scheduled to receive this distinguished recognition throughout 2025. In addition to the service awards, Loyalty Award crests and complimentary gifts were also distributed.

Haque & Sons Ltd. deeply values and expresses profound gratitude for the loyalty, dedication, and exceptional professionalism demonstrated daily by our sailing personnel.

The formal proceedings featured a comprehensive program, including entertainment from distinguished singers, a dance showcase, various games and activities, and a special raffle draw for attendees’ families.

Spanning October 21st to 23rd, 2025, this comprehensive seminar brought together over 140 dedicated seafarers for intensive training across crucial maritime disciplines, including safety protocols, advanced navigation, crew injury prevention, and critical technical operations.

We were honored by the presence of esteemed foreign delegates from MOLCT, and Unix Line Pte Ltd including their Managing Director, Deputy Executive Director, General Manager, and key leadership from Technical, Marine Operations, and IT departments. Their participation underscored the global importance of the Bangladesh pool for seafarers for their expanding feet.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding dedication, where 42 exceptional seafarers received the Long Service Loyalty Award, celebrating cumulative service periods of 5, 10, and over 15 years.

The program culminated in a dynamic evening featuring a gala musical and cultural program followed by a celebratory dinner.

He also showed a keen interest in BMTI, engaging with faculty and students to gather valuable feedback. The Commodore was particularly impressed with BMTI’s commitment to supplementing its curriculum with state-of-the-art simulators, commending the institution’s dedication to modern training methods.

Special Guest was the Mr. Mohammed Yousuf, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Shipping and Guest of Honour Commodore Mohammad Maksud Alam, Director General, Department of Shipping. Ceremonial march past was followed by oath taking, cap throwing and a cake cutting ceremony. The event was covered by local print and electronic media. 79 cadets were passed out and so far, 843 cadets have graduated from the academy. This batch is the second batch to be affiliated with Bangladesh Maritime University undergraduate programme.

Unix Line Pte Ltd. recently hosted its 51st Crew Training & Education Seminar, spanning three days across prestigious venues. The first day took place at Radisson Blu Chattogram, followed by the second day at Haque & Sons Chattogram on March 5th and 6th, 2024. A remarkable turnout of over 127 seafarers participated in the comprehensive three-day training program. Distinguished foreign guests attended the seminar the Director of Unix Line, Senior Deputy General Manager, Technical, and Marine DGM and Marine Operational of MOLCT. The seminar delved into various crucial topics such as safety, navigation, crew injury prevention, and technical issues.

The seminar aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of seafarers, equipping them to address challenges at sea effectively. On the third day, participants enjoyed an outing to the renowned Foy’s Lake BASECAMP. The outing included team-building exercises, as well as recreational activities.

The event concluded with a grand dinner party, offering attendees a relaxed setting to network and exchange experiences. The success of the 51st Crew Training & Education Seminar underscores Unix Line’s unwavering commitment to promoting professional development and safety in the maritime industry.
